Visiting Pisa From The Livorno Port

We recently visited Pisa, Italy while on a cruise on the Ruby Princess. The Ruby Princess docked at Livorno and we took a Princess excursion that basically provided transportation for us to Pisa and Florence with the "Florence & Pisa On Your Own" tour.

It was lightly raining on the day we visited Pisa which made taking photos a little more challenging.

Local ordinances require buses to park quite a distance away from the area where the Leaning Tower of Pisa is located which resulted in a rather long walk. One minor annoyance was that we had to walk as a group to an area near where the tower is located so that we would know where to meet. At times this appeared to be like herding cats as other tour groups were also making the trek to the area of the attractions and our groups got interspersed.

Another ongoing annoyance throughout the day was the group of vendors who accosted us from the time we got off of the tour bus to when we returned trying to sell us umbrellas.

We spent about 1 hour in Pisa before going on to Florence.
