The following are photos of the Roman Coliseum taken on a visit to Rome, Italy while on a cruise on the Ruby Princess. According to Wikipedia, the Roman Coliseum was originally named the Flavian Amphitheatre and was the largest ever built in the Roman Empire. Construction was started between 70 and 72 AD under the emperor Vespasian and was completed in 80 AD under the Roman Emperor Titus.
